Vetus Latina edition

A critical edition of the Old Latin Bible is being overseen by the Vetus Latina Institute.

The Vetus Latina edition is conceived as a successor to the three volumes of Sabatier, first published between 1743 and 1749 and re-released in 1751. The Old Latin Gospels also exist in a more recent edition by Adolf Jülicher, Walter Matzkow and Kurt Aland (Itala. Das neue Testament in lateinischer Überlieferung). For many other books, the only way of determining Old Latin readings is to use the apparatus in critical editions of the Greek Bible to reconstruct readings, or use the card index system of the Vetus Latina Database published online by Brepols (subscription required).

There is no translation available of the Old Latin biblical manuscripts. They are themselves translations of the Greek - for a flavour of the sort of variants involved, compare any two translations of the Greek Bible into a modern language.
